IUS is dedicated to promoting continual improvement of our environmental performance and to the prevention of pollution through the design and implementation of our projects. We aim to operate our business in a sustainable manner. All levels of management are responsible for integrating environmental management programmes into business processes in order to measure and improve environmental performance. All employees are responsible and accountable for understanding and incorporating environmental compliance requirements into their daily work activities with the obligation to bring issues and concerns forward for resolution.

Safety Management Systems - ISO 45001 : 2018

ISO 45001 was an assessment specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It was developed in response to the need for companies to meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner. IUS is one of the first contractors to attain this accreditation.

SafeContractor

We have achieved SafeContractor health and safety standards accreditation with Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP). This approval demonstrates to our clients that we have the necessary health and safety policies and procedures in place.

Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)

The scheme is open to the public and private sector. The membership extends to health trusts, councils, emergency services, the voluntary sector, housing associations, government departments and large private companies who use sub-contractors. We have demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of, current basic health and safety legislation.

National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS)

IUS is an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) technically assessed by Lloyds Register. The accreditation allows IUS to carry out contestable connections work for adoption by the Distribution Network Operator.

UVDB - Achilles

We are registered with UVDB under the Achilles Group which pre-qualifies over 20,000 suppliers for goods and services to major sectors of the economy. UVDB facilitates pre-qualification for work with more than 50 utility companies and their partners. IUS is also registered with Verify which is focused on Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment (HSQE) assessments. These assessments generate detailed reports of the company's capabilities which include management system evaluation and site assessment.

Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS)

The Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS) has been developed to allow contractors to carry out installation and commissioning of water mains and services to be adopted by the Water Utilities (WU). Any Self Lay Organisation (SLOs) contracting to carry out contestable work (as defined by OFWAT and detailed in the National Self-Lay Code of Practice) can be accredited under this scheme.

Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS)

The Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS) has been developed to allow Utility Infrastructure Providers (UIP's) to carry out installation, commissioning and connection of gas mains and services to be adopted by Gas Transporters (GTs). Any UIP wishing to carry out work must be accredited under this scheme.

Constructionline

Constructionline is a register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants used by the construction industry of the United Kingdom. The database contains details for over 23,000 companies and is accessed by over 2,000 organisations. Integrated Utility Services are Gold members of Constructionline, which requires being assessed against an enhanced prequalification question set that includes Environmental Management, Quality Management, Equalities and Diversity. Demonstrating to buyers that IUS have been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management.

Acclaim is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP). Acclaim uses the expertise and knowledge in health and safety consultancy, to appraise each application as an independent assurance of our health and safety mangement systems.

Concom was established by The Humber Contractor Competency Forum to manage their contractor supply chain. This is achieved via a comprehensive management system audit assessment of the management of health & safety, competence, quality, environmental and management of the supply chain.

Eurosafe UK is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP). Eurosafe UK are a leading Construction and Property Safety Consultancy in the UK that is used by buyers to vet their supply chain and enables them to discharge their duties under CDM 2015.

SMAS is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP) provided by the consultancy Safety Management Advisory Services Ltd. They have the necessary experience and expertise in new build construction and have developed a prequalification process used by many of the major UK house builders.
