IUS has a full time dedicated HSQE team responsible for the implementation of legislation and policy throughout our contracts. This is enhanced by a comprehensive audit schedule across the business by the entire management team. Policies, procedures, work methods and risk assessments are part of a controlled documentation process to ensure an effective system. Our management procedures, safety excellence and delivery capability has enabled the Company to attain the required standards, accreditations and awards for our business needs.

CHAS

The scheme is open to the public and private sector. The membership extends to health trusts, councils, emergency services, the voluntary sector, housing associations, government departments and large private companies who use sub-contractors. We have demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of, current basic health and safety legislation.

IUS has been successful in securing a twentieth consecutive RoSPA award, which has resulted in achieving the prestigious Order of Distinction Award for continuous improvements to Health & Safety performance. IUS is proud to become a member of an elite number of organisations that have been awarded this accolade.

Prosure 360 UK is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP). Prosure 360 are a leading Construction and Property Safety Consultancy in the UK that is used by buyers to vet their supply chain and enables them to discharge their duties under CDM 2015.

We are registered with UVDB under the Achilles Group which pre-qualifies over 20,000 suppliers for goods and services to major sectors of the economy. UVDB facilitates pre-qualification for work with more than 50 utility companies and their partners. IUS is also registered with Verify which is focused on Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment (HSQE) assessments. These assessments generate detailed reports of the company’s capabilities which include management system evaluation and site assessment.

With registration, IUS must maintain its product codes via external audit. These product codes identify the services IUS provides with evidence across numerous projects. This is achieved by submitting examples of work delivered that demonstrate our skills in the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects. The product codes IUS possess allow us to design, procure, install, connect, energise and maintain High Voltage substation assets.

Acclaim is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP). Acclaim uses the expertise and knowledge in health and safety consultancy, to appraise each application as an independent assurance of our health and safety management systems.

The Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS) has been developed to allow Utility Infrastructure Providers (UIP’s) to carry out installation, commissioning and connection of gas mains and services to be adopted by Gas Transporters (GTs). Any UIP wishing to carry out work must be accredited under this scheme.

IUS is an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) technically assessed by Lloyds Register. The accreditation allows IUS to carry out contestable connections work for adoption by the Distribution Network Operator or Independent Distribution Network Operator.

The Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS) has been developed to allow contractors to carry out installation and commissioning of water mains and services to be adopted by the Water Utilities (WU). Any Self Lay Organisation (SLO) contracted to carry out contestable work (as defined by OFWAT and detailed in the National Self-Lay Code of Practice) can be accredited under this scheme.

Constructionline is a register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants used by the construction industry of the United Kingdom. The database contains details for over 23,000 companies and is accessed by over 2,000 organisations. IUS are Gold members of Constructionline, which requires being assessed against an enhanced prequalification question set that includes Environmental Management, Quality Management, Equalities and Diversity. Demonstrating to buyers that IUS have been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management.

Concom was established by The Humber Contractor Competency Forum to manage their contractor supply chain. This is achieved via a comprehensive system audit assessment of the management of health & safety, competence, quality, environmental and management of the supply chain.

SMAS is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP) provided by the consultancy Safety Management Advisory Services Ltd. They have the necessary experience and expertise in new build construction and have developed a prequalification process used by many of the major UK house builders.

ISO45001 is an assessment specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It was developed in response to the need for companies to meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner. IUS was one of the first contractors to attain this accreditation.

IUS maintains it's reputation for environmental compliance and an exemplary record in the implementation of management systems.

We have achieved SafeContractor health and safety standards accreditation with Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP). This approval demonstrates to our clients that we have the necessary health and safety policies and procedures in place.
