Integrated Utility Services (IUS) Powers Groundbreaking NeRV (Net Zero Research Village) for Northern Gas Networks

We’re thrilled to announce that we have been appointed to carry out vital electrical infrastructure works at NeRV – the UK’s first combined whole-systems research facility dedicated to shaping the future of household decarbonisation!

Northern Gas Networks and electricity distributor Northern Powergrid are working in collaboration to provide essential evidence at NeRV to enable transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy system.

Located near Gateshead, NeRV brings together electricity, gas, water, and connectivity to create innovative solutions for sustainable energy. With a focus on renewable energy, including solar power, advanced battery storage, and hydrogen production, this facility is paving the way for energy self-sufficient communities across the UK.

IUS is proud to play a key role in this groundbreaking project and contribute to the nation’s journey toward a net-zero future.
