As part of an ongoing requirement for the use of renewable energy, Maynes Coaches has been expanding its fleet of vehicles with new EV buses. To support this objective, new battery charging facilities were needed at their main depot at Buckie.

Integrated Utility Services (IUS) were appointed to carry out the High Voltage (HV) connection works, including the supply and installation of the electrical apparatus within the substation.

Tesla

In Scotland IUS has delivered a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which impressed Michał Kuciński of Tesla. "I want to acknowledge the outstanding work that the IUS team has been consistently delivering at the Little Raith site over the past few months. Certainly, from my side, it feels like Tesla and IUS developed a partnership with a common goal of completing our BESS project on time, in the best possible quality. The team that I’m working with on day-to-day basis is of utmost help, impresses with professionalism, puts attention to small but important details and represents a united front with Tesla. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire IUS team involved.”

Yorkshire Water

Daniel Crossfield – Project Technician at Yorkshire Water said "Thank you from the specialist projects team for your support in the successful replacement of the 11kV HV switchgear at Marsh WPS. This is one of two projects that represent a milestone for Yorkshire Water as they are our first install of a new SF6 free 11kv AirSeT ring main units which have much reduced environmental impact over traditional SF6 switchgear."

Nissan

Nissan utilise IUS for both substation construction and maintenance at their car manufacturing plant in Sunderland. Ian McClelland, a Nissan Electrical Engineer, has thanked the IUS team for all of the support provided to assist the operation of their plant, which is critical to production.

University of Leeds

IUS design, procure and construct contestable connections including at the University of Leeds. Simon Gough, Head of Engineering Services sent his appreciation to IUS for the assistance with a Northern Powergrid 33kV connection application, associated with a new primary substation.

Zenobē

Brian McCrear - Project Manager at Zenobē said “Ever since we first engaged with the team on site at the start of the project, they have been professional, helpful, informative, and conscientious in everything they say and do. They went above and beyond, and it is no exaggeration to say that without their foresight and management of the situation under extreme pressure, we would not have energised the site and would not be where we are today.”

Persimmon Homes

Sam Sowrey, Technical and Commercial Director at Persimmon Homes (West Yorkshire) said “ IUS and Persimmon Homes (West Yorkshire) have a long standing relationship and have worked closely together on a number of schemes across our region. Integrated Health Projects

James Gillespie of VINCI Building said “Integrated Health Projects (IHP) the joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine, worked closely with IUS to deliver the critical electrical infrastructure upgrade to Montagu Hospital. The project was delivered ahead of programme, and the Trust were pleased with the results. The communication, expertise and collaborative approach demonstrated by IUS throughout the project played a large part in the successful delivery of the works”

CMDP

CMDP engaged with IUS to deliver the power to a new Water Treatment Works for Southern Water at Burham Water. Following a shutdown, Neil Cuthbert of CDMP commented, "Sounds like an amazing effort by all to achieve this milestone, which will provide the site resilience. Just goes to show what can be done by a great team of committed professionals."

BELCO

IUS has delivered a number of prestigious projects for BELCO in Bermuda, including the 22kV substations and 4kV substations associated with the new International Airport. The client’s representative, Jonathan Pedro praised IUS for delivering the project on time and to budget, with no health and safety related incidents.

Northern Powergrid

Gary Bartholomew, Major Projects Manager at Northern Powergrid, said, “In delivering the LV Load monitor installation programme IUS have conducted themselves in their usual professional and competent manner. From the initial concept phase through to the full-scale delivery programme they have proved themselves to be flexible and able to quickly accommodate changing priorities to meet their customer’s needs.”
