Slavery Statement

This Statement has been published in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Northern Powergrid Holdings Company and its subsidiaries (the “Group”) during the year ending 31 December 2024 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains. Covid19 Statement

2021 IUS remains vigilant regarding COVID 19 and our priority is to ensure that the on-going health and wellbeing of our employees, customers, supply chain and the wider public is maintained whilst delivering our services. IUS is operating in accordance with its business continuity plan and the team is meeting regularly, monitoring the updates from the government, following the latest advice from Public Health England, Public health Scotland and the Department of health in the Republic of Ireland.

We are committed to providing a ISO9001 quality-controlled project to the highest standard. Such quality standards are achieved through application of processes and procedures that reflect the competence and reputation of IUS to existing customers, potential customers and independent auditing authorities. All individuals within the company are empowered with the responsibility for ensuring high quality of workmanship. IUS has also attained the ISO14001 environmental certification.

ISO45001

ISO45001 is an assessment specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It was developed in response to the need for companies to meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner. IUS was one of the first contractors to attain this accreditation.

SMAS

SMAS is a recognised Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP) provided by the consultancy Safety Management Advisory Services Ltd. They have the necessary experience and expertise in new build construction and have developed a prequalification process used by many of the major UK house builders.

Constructionline

Constructionline is a register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants used by the construction industry of the United Kingdom. The database contains details for over 23,000 companies and is accessed by over 2,000 organisations. IUS are Gold members of Constructionline, which requires being assessed against an enhanced prequalification question set that includes Environmental Management, Quality Management, Equalities and Diversity. Demonstrating to buyers that IUS have been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management.

The Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS)

The Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS) has been developed to allow contractors to carry out installation and commissioning of water mains and services to be adopted by the Water Utilities (WU). Any Self Lay Organisation (SLO) contracted to carry out contestable work (as defined by OFWAT and detailed in the National Self-Lay Code of Practice) can be accredited under this scheme.

Integrated Utility Services (IUS) has successfully completed the High Voltage (HV) replacement works at Yorkshire Water's Langsett Raw Water Pumping Station (RPS) and Marsh Water Pumping Station (WPS) sites, installing Schneider Electric’s new SF₆‑free AirSeT 11kV switchgear in place of the ageing Igranic units.
