IUS Industrial Stand Down Focuses on Commitment to Safety in 2026

On Friday, we brought our Industrial teams together at Ripon Racecourse for our Integrated Utility Services Industrial Stand Down meeting, taking time to step back, reflect and align on our priorities for the quarter ahead.

Throughout the day, we focused on key topics including resource planning, safe working practices and our continued commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture across all operations.

IUS Attend Fibre Build Careers Fair

As part of our ongoing recruitment drive, Integrated Utility Services team members attended BT’s Fibre Build Careers Fair in Leeds last week, offering visitors a valuable opportunity to learn about the roles the company is recruiting for as it continues its growth into 2026.

Representatives also shared insights into IUS’s craftsperson apprenticeships and provided guidance for those looking to begin a career in the utilities sector.

Life on Site: Teamwork, Variety, and Growth

Case Study: Blackburn Meadows WwTW upgrade for Yorkshire Water

This case study showcases Blackburn Meadows WwTW upgrade, and we are proud that Integrated Utility Services played a key role in helping deliver this major step forward for Yorkshire Water.

As part of this £36.5m project, our team delivered the installation and commissioning of the transformers and HV connections that power the new tertiary solids removal plant and its CoMag® technology. Ensuring a resilient, efficient and future-proof electrical infrastructure was essential to enabling the outstanding phosphorus removal performance now being achieved on site.

Colleagues Volunteer at Teesside Foodbank

On 27th November, two of our colleagues, Kayleigh Forster and Daisy Ezard, volunteered at Tesco Billingham giving back to the community, supporting the Billingham & Stockton Borough Foodbank with the Trussell Trust.

They helped on-site to encourage shoppers to donate, whether that’s items from the foodbank’s suggested shopping list or monetary contributions that help purchase essential supplies.

IUS Supports Road Safety Week 2025

Integrated Utility Services is proud to support our group-wide commitment to Road Safety Week, reminding everyone that safe vehicles save lives.

This week, our teams have all been equipped with Northern Powergrid ice scrapers, ready for the colder spell. From clearing frosty windscreens to checking tyre grip and brakes, every action counts when the temperature drops.

Even though the weather has turned, our work continues. Our crews remain out on site, maintaining the power network and keeping essential services running safely and professionally.

Substation Installation & Contestable Connection at Montagu Hospital

The project was undertaken on behalf of Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust, and the work took place at Montagu Hospital, which is located in Mexborough.

The scheme encompassed the installation of two substations with a HV connection off site and LV connections to existing panels on site. IUS installed one substation to the adoptable standards of Northern Powergrid, as well as a customer owned substation. Both substation buildings were single-story brick and block construction, with service voids underneath to support cable routing.
